Around 20 club members travel to the Shawangunk Mountains or Mount Gretna every semester to climb some of the most accessible boulders on the East Coast. The Gunks is located in Gardiner, New York, only four hours north of Philadelphia. Mount Gretna is in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, about two hours west of Philly. We always try to leave on a Friday after classes, and arrive in the evening to set up camp before climbing all day Saturday—don’t worry, we have plenty of people who are willing to lend the necessary gear. We only climb half of Sunday, then drive back to Temple. Regardless of the weather, everyone sends (their climbs) and more importantly, has a great time. Below is a collection of pictures from our previous trips. Photos courtesy of Kate Chudzik.
